Grâce au jeune label Ramée et à l’excellent ensemble bruxellois Les Muffatti, la discographie du répertoire du haut-baroque italien s’enrichit d’un enregistrement complet du plus important oratorio de Giovanni Bononcini, San Nicola di Bari. Cette parution est forcément un événement puisqu’il n’existe pratiquement rien au disque de ce compositeur qui fut en son temps célèbre dans toute l’Europe. [...]

en handhaaft zich prima buiten het Sinterklaasseizoen. [...]

servent une partition débordante d’invention et de vitalité, riche de références
littéraires, où chaque rôle est habilement caractérisé, où les récitatifs collent

[...] Unklar bleibt, ob die virtuos eingestreuten, perfekt dargebotenen Koloraturen, Ornamente, Tongirlanden und Verzierungen der Vokalsolisten und Continuospieler vom Komponisten so festgehalten worden sind oder ob es sich um Improvisationen und Vorgaben aufgrund anderweitiger Quellen handelt. Dies aber ist eine rein philologische Frage, die den verdienten Beifall zu dieser Produktion nicht schmälert.
