The RAMÉE label was founded in 2004 by Rainer Arndt.
Throughout his parallel careers as a violinist in orchestras such as La Petite Bande, Ricercar Consort, Musica Fiata and Les Agrémens, and as a sound engineer for labels such as Raumklang, Flora and Mirare, he has established strong professional relations with many musicians from all over the world, especially in the early music scene. The RAMÉE label was born out of a desire to create a platform that would allow artists the freedom to create their own projects.
Being a musician himself, Rainer Arndt has a very particular
approach to recording, thanks to his deep knowledge and his constant vigilance
of musical ideals.
He makes high demands not only on the aural aspect of the recording, but also
on the literary, graphic and tactile quality of the cd jacket and booklet. RAMÉE
CDs want to be a poetical object in its entirety, because the ear's pleasure
is intimately tied together with that of the eye and the hand.
The RAMÉE catalogue contains mainly early music repertoire which has seldom or not yet been recorded, or more known oeuvres in new and exceptional interpretations.
